Now the fun really begins. Softforge needs to understand your ideas and turn them into a website. Only you know what your idea is. So notes, drawings, designs on the back of envelope, powerpoint presentations, all are welcome and helpful to get your idea across.

If there are others who share the dream who have a different angle on the business, a partner who has heard you describe it over the years or a coleague who has a different view, all are welcome.

We need to scope the idea, by this I mean, is it a static site? One that will have very little changing in the content.

This could be an

• Online curriculum vitae.
• A site marking a particular event.
• A pamplet site stating an idea or ideology.
• A site showing your place of work, how to get there and a bit about what you do.

It could be a site that you want changes on a regular basis but you would rather Softforge adds the content.

The changes being timing of events or occasional changes in services. Additions to the site as new services, career moves, or other circumstances change.

This could include similar to a static site but also perhaps

• A school, nursery or college.
  
• Club, association or social organisation.
• A high street shop offering services but not online sales.
• Personal site for an actor, musician or writer.
• Accountants, solicitors, other professionals.

Perhaps you want to be in total control, adding content when ever you feel like it. Spending time making changes, tweeking the content and growing your site organically as your business grows or needs change.

This could apply to all of the previous examples and also larger firms

• Doctors surgerys.
• Dental practice.
• Local neighbourhood watch schemes.
• Recruitment consultants.
• Churches.
• Builders merchants.
• Art galleries

For these a full content management system (CMS) would allow someone to be in charge of the quality of the content, but allow others to add and amend the content spreading the workload.
